OpenRT is a new interface that is supposed to enable applications to use interactive ray tracing just like other applications use OpenGL.
It is currently beeing developed at the Computer Graphics Group of the Saarland University, Germany

The core of OpenRT is currently formed by the Saarland Universities former "RTRT - Realtime Ray-Tracing" project, which is an interactive distributed software ray tracer. Future verions of OpenRT are desgined to also run on the SaarCOR hardware architecture for ray tracing
