A couple of years ago I was working on my thesis on virtual heritage and real-time visualization techniques. So at that time I became a beta tester for PimTools - and it did work very well up to a point. Support from the programmer was great, a support forum was set up, and so on and so forth. I did a comparison of visualization engines for virtual heritage projects and even included the beta version of PimTools: it looked VERY promising.

Then suddenly... nothing. No contact, no updates, ...

Still, it was a very exciting time, that. I have no clue what happened exactly, but sometimes life gets in the way, and Enki (the developer) may have had better offers, or perhaps the scope overwhelmed him - seeing the high expectations everyone was harrowing.

I am using both DX Studio and Blender for real-time stuff now. Works quite well, and Blender's game engine more or less compares to PimTools (at least the philosophy behind it: model, texture, animate, program and run your 3d environment in a built-in opengl engine - all in one program).
