Hey guys and gals,

Right now I'm trying to get the hang of modelling for games so that I can beef up my portfolio with work geared towards that industry. Here is the model that I'm currently working on. Below is a shot of the original model before optimizations. It was around 4500 tris. And underneath that is a shot of the optimized model, around 2800 tris. And at the bottom is a wireframe shot of the optimized model. Right now I'm working on the UVs so that I can start texturing him. Hopefully I'll start texturing tomorrow.

Thanks for looking, I'll post more once I start texturing him.

I like the head but the legs are a bit "unnormal" even for a fantasy caracter

Well I've started texturing him finally. Its going alot slower than I thought it would and its alot tougher than I expected too. Its not coming out nearly as well as I'd like it too but I think it'll get better with practice. Those of you who are good at texturing, you have my infinate respect. I'm hoping to get alot more than just the abdomen textured tomorrow. :)

Well, here's my progress so far. Unfortunately, I've decided to scrap this and start over yet again. I just don't have the uvs laid out in a coherent enough way to reduce the seams. Oh well, I'm learning alot in the process so thats good.
